Flock has been a long-running concept, dreamt up over many a drink and late night. With Peckham being a hotbed of creativity and art in South London, the main aim of Flock is to offer local entrepreneurs and brands in the area a curated physical platform to showcase their work.
The digital revolution has provided small young brands opportunities to market and sell their work with ease, but we at Flock believe face-to-face selling is still important, and want to offer these local brands physical exposure, sales knowledge and a community of support.
Best friends since we met at Manchester University Freshers week 9 years ago, we now both live in Peckham, and have loved watching so many of the regeneration projects come to life. We both have a lot of experience within retail, Claire as a swimwear designer (her brand is designed and made in Peckham), and Sophie as a retail buyer at Frame.
Our long-term mission is to support brands that don’t have a physical store, provide further exposure through our own social platforms to improve sales and link them to our contacts within the retail industry for further support.
Peckham Levels is a brilliant piece of innovation; a transformed ex-carpark now operating as a wonderful social space, brimming with creative talents – an exciting project that we feel lucky to be a part of. We launched our first Flock pop-up over their first open studios weekend in early June, which worked well as we were able showcase some local brands that don’t have studios in the complex, and create a hub where visitors of the studio could access a curated collection and discover new brands.
